Talk about a winner, this car, configured for LeMans, won the GTS Class in 1999. Only slightly modified, it won the Overall in 2000 at the Daytona 24 Hours. Two of the three drivers, Beretta and Wendlinger, drove at both races. In keeping with the accuracy of the Viper GTS-R series, this model is fashionably depicted in all of its race glory. The graphics are true to the photos of the 1:1 car. It has the yellow-tinted headlight covers, air foils front and spoiler rear. The racing slick shod BBS wheels are replicated to match the model's fit and finish and is vintage AUTOart - perfect. Each of these Viper GTS-R models, though sharing body panels, is altogether different when compared side by side. There are specific scoops and accessories that are unique to each of the cars, as they are on the actual racers. AUTOart captured the differences faithfully. As with the other Vipers in the series, the model sits incredibly low. I wonder if it would clear a credit card? It rolls and steers the way it should and the model is a stand-out in any 1:18th crowd it sits in. AUTOart's racing series is full of important and exciting models and this one is no exception. I understand too, there is a whole lot more to come. With affordable quality like this, bring them on. (08/26/2000) (08/26/2000) |
