This a very nice looking diecast of a classic but relatively unheralded early thirties sports car. Bburago's rendition has their usual superbly accurate body that scales well to 1/24. The body, including the opening hood and rear hatch is diecast. The fenders, chassis and drivetrain are plastic. The real disappointment is the engine, which, unlike the type 57 Atlantic, is rather crude and does not lend itself to detailing. The interior is decent with the floorboard, shifter and streering wheel finely modeled. THe seats are textured, the dash is in simulated wood applique that I found a bit too orange for my tastes so I overpainted it with a dark brown wash. I used masking tape painted to match the leather upholstery to enhance the leather covered outer arm supports. The rear hatch opens to reveal what appears to be a folded rumble seat secured with two leather belts. The chrome is real nice and even the exhaust tip is hollow. The car sports the signature Bugatti 8-spoked wheels shod in Continental tires that are too wide for the period but have a good side profile. All in all, if you treat it as a curbside, it fills the void in your Bugatti collection admirably for its pricepoint.
