This is the evil ZAO’s XKR, in sinister dark green metallic, in the upcoming (11/22/02) 40th Anniversary 007 movie, “Die Another Day”.
As a new kid on the 1:18th block, this Beanstalk Group diecast is elegantly fabricated. I would place it near Kyosho’s legendary quality, and slightly above AUTOart. The fit, finish and operational detailing are excellent. The interior, while heavily plastic in build, is carried out very nicely. The dash gauges are superb and the console controls and instruments are well defined and detailed. The outside rearview mirrors are found on rubber-based mounts with just enough give to prevent breakage. The suspension articulates well. The tires feature bands of spikes giving the villain great traction when chasing Bond becomes necessary. The brake rotors are seen as they rotate in the Jaguar-marked calipers. The wipers are separate moldings and add to the realistic appearance. Other dastardly devices are front mounted rockets, a panel of sidewinder missiles, neatly hidden in the door and a bank of mortars tucked into the trunk. As if that weren’t enough firepower, a removable panel discloses a “Gatling gun” hidden between the two seats. The paintwork of these Beanstalk Group diecasts are just impeccable. The model is also very well put together and sure to be a star in its own right. Two other cars will be featured in the movie.
