This is the car driven by the latest “Bond girl”, Jinx, played by Oscar-winning Halle Berry, in the upcoming (11/22/02) 40th Anniversary 007 movie, “Die Another Day”.
As a new kid on the 1:18th block, I was pleasantly surprised to find this Beanstalk Group diecast elegantly fabricated. I would place it near Kyosho’s legendary quality, and slightly above AUTOart. The fit, finish and operational detailing are excellent. The interior, while heavily plastic in build, is carried out very nicely with good texturing on the bucket seats. The dash gauges are superb and the console controls and instruments are well defined and detailed. The suspension articulates well. The tires feature well-defined tread patterns. The Coral paint is exquisite in application, smoothness and quality and it fits the retro-styled car perfectly. The wipers are separate moldings and add to the realistic appearance. The engine bays on the Beanstalk Group diecast models are nicely detailed. And although they are not laden with plumbing and wiring, are more than adequate for this model's price point. Nice touches on the new ‘Bird’ are the simulated hood scoop, air intake grille under the wipers, head and tail light lenses and the excellent tampo script in silver. A removable hard top comes with the replica. The fit of the boot, as well as the auxiliary hard top is superb. The model is very well put together and sure to be a star in its own right.
