The SLR embodies the myth of the “Silver Arrow” perfectly. Examine its design closely and you will discover components of the legendary 1955 300 SLR "Uhlenhaut” coupes as well as modern styling elements from the current Formula 1 Mercedes McLaren. To reduce it to the basics: The SLR unites extravagant elegance, inconceivable power and extraordinary ride quality with adequate comfort and the highest possible vehicle safety using unprecedented technology. This undisputed superiority gives the driver a car he can drive daily that still serves as a super sports car with all the flair of the Grand Turismo.
Just as the real car is in a category all by itself, CMC’s ambition is to do as much with their model of the SLR. They have accepted the challenge and created the ultimate scale model, superbly detailed, and a source of endless fascination for the owner. To successfully fulfill their own high expectations CMC chose to make the model in 1:12 scale. Rather than use carbon fiber like the original 1:1 they have chosen 0.6mm copper which results in a 3.1kg hand-built body, lighter in weight than diecast but more easily worked yielding superior detail. Reflecting the character of its big brother CMC’s unique choice of material has resulted in a dent resistant, light but rugged model car with unique technology and a superior level of quality.
To reproduce the body shell and various model pieces with absolute authenticity, CMC used costly stereo lithography. With the help of this digital technology, they were able to build a prototype from which experienced mold and toolmakers made the scale model. Experienced production engineers and skilled assembly personnel then completed each car as a real "handmade work of art".

•Accurate reproduction of the SLR’s uniquely designed hinges and hood opening-mechanism duplicates the unusual horizontal as well as vertical movement of the engine hood and grille.
•Authentic gullwing doors with original top pillar hinges open on functional gas shock stabilizers. A pushbutton
unlocks the door latch.
•Exterior side body and hood air scoops are handmade, using single metal parts.
•Metal side exhaust pipes are duplicated on each side of the model.
•A movable spoiler/air brake is integrated into the trunk deck.
•The bi-xenon headlights and taillights, with hand assembled (nonfunctional) LED’s, are reproduced with exact detail.
•Opening gas tank filler door.
•Accurate steel cast reproductions of the polished 19" Michelin turbine blade wheels designed exclusively for the SLR. As with the real thing, front and rear wheels are different sizes and exhibit authentic tread.
•Beside the standard colors black and silver, there are four more special colors (red, green, grey and blue).
•Depending on the color of the model, there are 3 different leather interiors (black, red, or grey) available.
•The model interior is recreated entirely in leather with hand worked decorative stitching on the padded bucket seats.
•The eye-catching interior is highlighted by the center console, multifunction steering wheel and detailed instrument panel
