Many connoisseurs consider this race car the most beautiful Formula 1 car of all time - Dan Gurney's AAR Eagle V-12. This is a replica of the 1967 Brands Hatch Race of Champions Winner. Making this version unique, it lacks the cooling slots in the nose for shock absorbers you see in later versions. In the 1967 Brands Hatch Race, Gurney took the pole and all three heats to score the first win for the Eagle V-12. The field was a who's who in F1 legacy: Richie Ginther in the second Eagle, John Surtees in a Honda, Lorenzo Bandini, Ludovico Scarfiotti, and Chris Amon in Ferraris, Jack Brabham and Denny Hulme in Repco-Brabhams, Mike Spence in a BRM H-16, Jo Siffert, Pedro Rodriguez in Cooper-Maseratis, Bruce McLaren in a McLaren/BRM, plus Jackie Ickx and Jean-Pierre Beltoise in F2 Matra-Cosworths. This was a gorgeous winning car from a romantic and terribly dangerous racing era. Serialized Limited Edition (02/04/2008) |
