The previously released blue Z/28 speaks of a beautifully done muscle car that most loved and I have to admit, the color is beautiful...kind of a little elegance hiding raw muscle. On the other hand, the orange version SCREAMS muscle car. The paint is very close if not dead on to the original color and all that glorious detail that was there on the blue Z is there again on this one. The difference in the colors almost makes it seem as if they are completely different models. I remember reading the Face Time interview with Roger Harney in which he was asked about the fiasco with the photoetched emblems on the blue Z/28. He said they would be improved on future releases...I love it when someone keeps their word! Gone is the overly sticky clear protective tape that was placed over the photoetched material. Remember when you peeled it off the blue one, the emblem came with it? This time the photoetched material appears to be thinner than the last and is glued tight! The same crisp, clean definition to the emblem is still there, it's just better attached. The only other change besides color is the addition of some protection against a broken side mirror (nice touch I might add...it's a plastic covering that fits over it and is contoured to the side of the car to protect the mirror during shipping) For as good as the blue Z/28 was, the orange one is even better. Even if you don't collect the CM 1:20th scale diecast, this one rates with the GT-350H as a must have! It seems that Revell is getting better with this line...and it was hard to beat before! I can't wait for the next GT-40! (07/14/2001) |
