(From the review of the Race version) This little model is an absolute JEWEL. Everywhere you look, minute, accurate details abound... the engine (once you carefully UNDO the attaching belts on the rear hood) is incredibly detailed down to the last nut and bolt. All parts move and operate as they should with door lines looking more like a "curbside" model than even those on a precision model...so tight is the fit of the doors and front bonnet! The clear lenses are sharp and bright and the whole look of the car is exactly...well ....perfection!!!
This is a short review of a most diminutive car....but there aren't enough words to describe the delightful surprise this model has in store for you. One suggestion, though: when you finally manage to open the belts on the engine compartment, or the hood...leave them open...otherwise you'll never see the inside of this magical creation again. And that would be real shame!! (Also, redoing these belts once opened is a bear of a job)
CMC has finally realized there's more in the collectible world than old Mercedes...this 550 Spyder is a real 5 Star winner!!! Bravo! And now it is also available in street livery - same quality and detail. Colors are red or silver. The issue price is $149. (Original review 11/97)
