Besides the venerable Willys cars, the Ford of England Anglia was the car of choice for many drag teams during the gasser wars era. Small, light and readily available, you could shoehorn in a big motor, jack 'em up, and stuff a straight axle and big tires underneath, then hang on! There is a large unfilled gap in the collections of folks who fondly recall the drag racers of the 60's. One of the stellar drivers was Skip Hess who built "Skipper's Critter" on the chassis of a '48 Anglia. This car captured the world's A-Gas Quarter-Mile record in 1965 and the A-Gas Supercharged Quarter-Mile record in 1966. Relive the gasser era with this 1/24th scale model replicated by Motor City USA's Design Studio. The car is a limited edition of 2,500 pieces worldwide. It is a static model, cast and hand-assembled from 60 parts in the USA. Each replica is accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity personally autographed by owner-driver Skip Hess. Details include a correct interior, correct wheels and body markings, chrome blower scoop, and wheelie bar. A parachute and white top insert add to the realism of this gasser.
