FM's current trend of issuing repainted existing models is starting to have a positive effect. It is allowing an infusion of capital to go to the tooling of new images. We are just now beginning to see the fruits of these labors in all new model issuances. Meanwhile we are offered diecast models in different flavors widening our buffet choices.
This one, a '68 Corvette in Silverstone Silver, replaces the LeMans Blue model issued in 1990 and later discontinued. With Gunmetal interior the color choice is striking. The woodrimmed steering wheel is retained and so are the white wall tires and Rally Wheels. The engine bay was retained unchanged but the T-tops seem to fit much better than the original issue. Even based on the older technology the image is crisp and clean and worthy of a spot in the Corvette collector's coral.
The issue price is $115.
