Ertl has recreated the 1967 Camaro Z/28 to the higher standard of detail of its new 1:18 scale Authentics line. In 1967, the Z/28 took its first giant step beyond a mere engine option designation to becoming a new “ultra strength” personality for Camaro that would last decades. Red with black rally stripes, the Ertl model leaves no doubt about the Z/28’s aggressive nature. That year, Road & Track concluded that the Z/28’s 302.4 cid Turbo Fire V-8 was the most responsive American V-8 they had ever tested. The engine had been designed to fit just within the SCCA’s limit for its new Trans Am sedan racing classification. Reviewers set the bhp to at least 350, more than enough for a fistful of energy. The greater detail of the Authentics line lets you appreciate the nuances of the Z/28’s 327 big block and the 4 barrel Holleys sitting atop oversized and high rise manifolds. Model features include: realistic soft seats, sliding front bucket seats, opening glove compartment, opening hood - doors - trunk, metal hinges, retractable radio antenna, detailed 302 CID engine, diecast oil pan and transmission, soft heater hoses and battery cables, full engine compartment details, authentic labels, working front and rear suspension, diecast rear axle, working drive train with rotating rear wheels and driveshaft, and steerable front wheels.
