What can you say about the XK-120, but "WOW!!". This is the first of the elegant "XK" dynasty that continues to represent the finest of British automotive style, and in my opinion this car is the most beautiful of the lot. These initial post-war designs with their graceful integrated fenders combined the best of the classic form with the inevitable practicality of the future. I love this model because of it's subject. The XK-120 has to be the classiest roadster of all time. This model isn't terrible - the exterior details are very good. Paint is smooth. It has an opening hood with a molded plastic engine - little detail. Trunk doesn't open. Doors open with those ugly diecast dogleg hinges (but they're pretty unobtrusive when closed). Steerable wheels, with pretty fair wire spokes. Interior is just hard molded plastic, and the dash instrumentation is just decals but it looks fair. But man, this car sure looks great on a shelf! Would be my #1 choice for a 1:1 version! (10/26/2002) |
