Exoto 1:18 1980 Renault RE-20 Turbo #15- J.P. Jabouille- French Grand Prix at Paul Ricard - No Driver diecast car

The cacophony of sound emitted from the twin turbo RE-20 will send shivers up your spine. From its low growl while cornering the tightest turns, to the wail of flat-out acceleration, this dual-stage missile commands full attention. The technologically advanced four cam V-6 engine displacing less than 1500cc's, blasts out 500 horsepower @ 11000 screaming rpm's. Jean-Pierre Jabouille piloted this yellow rocket to many wins based on its leading edge of modern technology stance, later emulated by many F1 builders. This is the "Grand Prix of France at Paul Ricard" livery.

Featuring over 250 parts, this model boasts the same technology as the real racer, only in diecast form. Full attention to detail was painstakingly paid to this state-of-the-art replica. Externally, the paint, yellow and white punctuated by sharp, realistic graphics, is magnificent. The stance of the large replica says, 'fast' just sitting still. The tires, genuinely replicated, are low, fat, wide, scrubbed perfectly and ready to race. Removing the cowling that includes the massive vent panels, sideboard, and area immediately behind the driver, rewards you with the thrill only sophisticated power can give. You're immediately drawn to the surprisingly small V-6, twin side-mounted turbos and intercoolers. The Renault-Gordini powerplant is perfectly plumbed, wired and dressed with every conceivable detail. The rear suspension and transaxle come alive with hydraulic hoses which lead your eyes forward to water and oil cooling radiators as real as the 1:1 car itself. The driver's cockpit is spectacular. The foot pedals and front working suspension linkage, gearbox and steering and specially fitted seat are delightfully detailed. The fabric and photo-etched metal seat belts add even more unexpected detail. The rear workable suspension too, is true to the original car. Superb craftsmanship and intricate complexity make this a truly 'must have' for the F1 fan and anyone that just plain loves automotive technology. (10/7/1999)
