Until you stand next to the 1:1 Nigel Mansell 641/2 or hold the Exoto model in your hands, you cannot fully appreciate just how aerodynamically slippery this Ferrari design really is. Two things instantly strike me about the car. First it appears inspired by something NASA developed for outer space exploration but secondly and perhaps more importantly, just how accurate Exoto's replication of it really is. The model 'wears' its beautiful paint as if it were an apple dipped in candy coating. Exoto applies an 11 step finish that is million dollar rich and a foot deep. Beauty isn't just skin deep however. Remove the cowling and feel your pulse quicken at the sight of the unbelievable detail. Slip off the yellow airbox to reveal the 12 highly polished velocity stacks beneath it and you have an overall look at Ferrari's V12 in its perfect miniature marvel. The wiring on this bad boy is scaled to ultra-thin proportions. The brake disks rotate inside the Brembo calipers. Hydraulic hoses, suspension actuators, coil springs, and genuine aluminum heat shielding lends incredible accuracy not found in many diecast models. Photoetched parts include body riveting and water and oil cooling radiators on either side of the driver's compartment. The simulated carbon-fiber panels look authentic and the cockpit is totally realistic. One last warning: Be careful who you allow to handle this model. You may not get it back!
