A large number of us might overlook this little snowmobile as not being indicative of automotive representation. Then again, for some of us, if it has a motor, we want it and want to drive it. You won't see many diecast makers offering a snowmobile as a part of their vehicle line-up so I give exceptionally high marks to Gateway Global for having the foresight to do so. This 1:12th scale model is delightful!
Astonishingly detailed, the front skis steer via the motorcycle handlebars and the belt drive smoothly rolls over the roadwheels. Steering linkage with its exposed metal springs and the drive suspension components boast realistic detail. And as usual, the paint we expect from the Gateway Global companies is exquisite. The silver contrasting graphics on the jet-black paint are superb.
For a fun little model that is certain to evoke a smile from anyone who sees it, this is a sure bet. This replica depicts the Bombardier Ski-Doo 2000 Grand Touring Special Edition model. Do you think we could play with it in mud until the next snowfall? (05/26/2000)
