"A word of advice to the demure and meek. Unless you're ready to change your image, pass over this section." Pontiac '71 GTO advertising at it's finest! I just received my 1971 GTO Judge convertible sample from GMP. The model depicts the rare Judge convertible - only 17 real units were built. As a point of interest, 14 were 4 speeds and only 3 automatics. This model is a limited edition of 2496 units. The body is beautifully painted Cameo white with an Ivory interior. Wheels are depicted as the Honeycomb type. The interior has a pearl quality to it and has been tastefully replicated to show the knit vinyl inserts on the seating surfaces. My understanding is that an uptop will be available from GMP.

The Formula steering wheel looks so real you almost want to reach in to feel it! The visors flip and the seats tilt forward. The floor is flocked to simulate carpeting. Correct eyebrow striping adorns the smooth exterior paint. "RAM AIR" appropriately placed on the massive hood scoops and delicate "455 H.O." tampos are placed on the ends of the spoiler. Details abound on this model, similar to the '70; photoetched grilles, engine detail, functional suspension and steering.

The Goodyear tires are passable but not accurate. The 60 series tire should be represented as POLYGLAS GT's. The POLYGLAS distinction was reserved for the 70 series tire. I have not found references regarding a painted rocker panel option. This may be in error or the factory may have read light reflection off the panel as white paint. Finally, the parking lights should be clear. On the real car the bulb was amber, not the lens. Most importantly, however, the body lines look good and give the model the right feel of a GTO. GMP is aware of the minor issues and will address them on any future releases. I can be a tough critic on musclecars, but I will say I'm proud to display this GTO Judge on my shelf! I think you'll like it too!
