There was a series of six Jouef 1:43rd. scale diecasts that were deeply detailed. Sadly, these are now discontinued. Two of the diminutive diecasts closely echo the model brilliance of their 1:24th. counterparts. Both the 1964 Ferrari 250 GTO and the 1967 Ferrari 330 P4 were manufactured in the two different scales. Like its larger brother, the 250 GTO has opening hood, trunk and doors. Photo-etching is genuinely amazing in this size model but it is seen all over the small coupe. The windscreen wipers are a miniature triumph in themselves. The paint is masterfully applied and the proportions of the replica were exceptionally well kept. The trunk holds a spare, complete with a photo-etched wheel and the engine even offers wiring. A perfect compliment to the 1:24th., yet wonderfully suitable on its own, it is a great little car for the Ferrari-lover. (11/29/1999) (11/29/1999) |
