Kyosho 1:18 1966 Shelby Cobra 427S/C

Shelby's legacy, this masterpiece of art, machinery and power. Even while sitting still, the replica's sculpture invokes a sense of motion. Looking for all the world like a swift dart launched from a crossbow, you immediately recognize its intended purpose - speed! Nearly as austere as the life-sized car, this diecast doesn't feature wiring or engine plumbing, just a monster 427 engine under the hood. The recessed gauges, fire extinguisher, carpets and 'giving' seats make the interior accurate and come across as well detailed. The model's strong point is the beautifully done paint job. The Rangoon Red is brilliantly done, almost appearing as hand-waxed. The stripes display no overspray and the fit of each door, hood and trunk lid is masterfully carried out. The stance of this Cobra and its muscular fender treatments make it look perfectly venomous. This is an excellent value for the money. If Cobra's are your thing, get this one. You can almost hear those side-pipes roar as it sits ready to take on the track or boulevard. (10/15/1999)
