Here's a quick one: Kyosho's new M3 Cabriolet. Talk about a good time - this model takes Kyosho quality and couples it with the Bavarian car maker's desire to see their cars done in exacting miniature. Like Bimmers? This model delivers the goods. It's heavy beyond its size, and features panel fit that's scale-close all around; that sells the open car's realism. The soft interior is finished off in a leather-look black that you can't help but touch, with fabric seat belts, deep flocking on the floor, and sharp white tampos on the buttons and levers. The console armrest opens and shuts, the shifter moves, and there's a touch screen on the dash. Open the hood and check out the M-tuned I-6 surrounded by deep castings that look like they just rolled out of the detail shop, and then spin the alloy-look wheels a couple of times. There's even a place for your Enya CDs in the flocked trunk. Yep, it bounces on springs, and those projector headlamps look like they could pop on and blind you at any moment. That's the beauty of the thing: you wonder what's next. The fun part is, it's never a disappointment. Highly recommended. (09/30/2001) |
