As usual, this guy is chock full of all those wonderful little extra details we've come to expect from Kyosho's super line of BMW's. As with the recently released 2002Tii, the new replicas are equipped with a fully articulated suspension. The two passenger doors open as they would on the 1:1 version. The hood lifts smoothly to reveal a spit & polished 2.5 L 6 cylinder engine detailed to the max. The rear hatch rises serenely to reveal a luxuriantly carpeted load area and the parcel shelf is properly hinged and, like the rest of the engineering on this model, is a first class subtle touch. The interior looks to me to be anything but entry level. The seats look to be upholstered in a leather-like simulation, the vast array of switches and dials appear all in their proper places, and the wood accents, long a Kyosho strong suit, authentically punctuate the rich detail of the cabin appointments. It's all there, jewel-like in its countenance; the result being a totally captivating representation of the smallest 3 series BMW. (09/28/2001) |
