103 1967 Bolero Red RPO Z/28s were produced out of a total of 602 Camaro Sport Coupes, 175 at the Norwood Ohio plant and 175 at the Van Nuys California plant. General Motors gave birth to the Camaro "Pony Car" on September 12, 1966. Little did they know they were unleashing a legend that would capture the hearts of generations to come. Lane keeps the legend going in full detail in a breathtaking 1/18 reproduction.

The 302 c.i. 290 engine is faithfully recreated in full detail (would you expect less from Lane?). You will have to get out the magnifying glasses to read the label on the air cleaner, caution label on fan housing, and coolant instruction on the radiator. The engine bay is wired. You will also notice the windshield cleaner canister is thoughtfully 3/4th full. Note, you will need a thin rod or pencil to push the hood open from the bottom. This car is tight. The Bolero (dark red)paint is flawless. The famous black Camaro stripes really set it off along with the black vinyl roof (textured). The interior is standard talented Lane along with the trunk. Once again, get out the magnifying glasses to read the jack and other instructions. Plaid trunk coverings surround the gas filler tube and highlight the spare tire and jack stand. This car gives CM's 1/20 Camaro a good run for its money. However it is minus the photo-etched emblems that sparkled on Revell's; (decals are on Lanes version), but then again, those were a pain to keep on when you removed the tape (CM).

Lane only produced 3,000 of these Camaros in Bolero red. If you're looking for a 1/18 Camaro, this car will make your heart pound. Go out and buy one while you can, it is going to jump up sky high by next year. Trust me. (06/12/2000)
