Here is a 1/43 model that simply blows away 1/24 renditions. Often referred to as "the most beautiful Buick ever built", the '49, as replicated by MOTOR CITY USA,only adds to the mystique of the postwar luxury convertible. All of the comments made regarding the STUDEBAKER hold true with the BUICK. This model captures the very essence of the ROADMASTER, right down to those bladed taillights and that "Million Dollar Smile" in front! All the chrome, the wide whitewalls, the sweep spear, as well as the unique radio antenna sprouting from the top of the windshield...it's all there...nice and tight and clean. The interior (red on this Sequoia Cream version) is a jewel in itself and comes complete with all of the hardware (as separate chromed pieces) for power windows and vent cranks as well as door release latches!!!!
Colors...no less than 5!! Allendale Green with a Tan Convertible UP top; Sequoia Cream (down top), Dark Grey,
Medium Blue Metallic (same color as the FM '49 Riviera), and black (like the '49 Roadmaster in "Mullholland Falls". The first 2 color are "regulars, the last 3 are LIMITED to but SIX (6) examples in each hue. Talk aboutLIMITED EDITIONS...IT DOESN'T COME ANY MORE LIMITED THAN THAT!!! By the way, with Motor City USA cars, a good rule of thumb is that if you see one you like...BUY IT...because you might never see it again!!! ALL MCUSA cars are LIMITED...never more than 200 of a given model are ever produced, and some are even "one-offs". (07/26/1998)
