An important milestone in Corvette history, the 35th anniversary car was given a beautiful birthday presentation. Wrapped in brilliant white, the special Anniversary Edition was given white wheels, white leather interior and special emblems. All 2,050 35th Anniversary Editions were built as coupes.
FM did a great job, with older 1994 technology, in offering this model. For those that collect the entire Corvette series or as a separate collectible, this diecast fills that milestone-year niche well. The paint was applied beautifully; rich, smooth and even. The fit and operation of the doors and clamshell hood is excellent and so is the lift-up rear window. This was the first year for the 17" unidirectional wheels and tires. The replication of the tire tread, especially, is remarkably well executed. The dash features 3-D gauges and the smoked roof panel fits wonderfully in place. It is slightly darker than the windshield and rear window as it should be. The engine is very well replicated, even if devoid of wiring. The top half of the wheel well surround lifts up with the hood and fits seamlessly when closed. Though the headlights do not swivel up, their replication in the closed position shows up very nicely with the hood open. The air induction system and accurately painted exhaust manifolds add a nice sense of realism to the car. If you do not yet have this little gem in your collection, give it a second look. She's sweet.
