The 1978 Corvette was an American muscle car that would make any classic car admirer look twice. UT has captured the essence of this car with superb detail, something which many have come to expect from UT. The silver paintwork on the model is finished to glazed perfection preserving the intricate detail from the original car on the model. A magnifying glass reveals that great care has been taken with the Chevrolet logo found on each of the car's front fenders, trunk and hood. Every bit of the logo has been faithfully reproduced. The tiny writing on the hood and trunk logo reads "Corvette - 1953 Anniversary 1978", marking this car as the 25th Anniversary edition. Even the silver trim on the rear windshield and doors has the appearance of real metal. True to the original, the rear taillights sport the correct double silver circular trim.
The cockpit is strikingly and amazingly detailed. The floorboards are finished in a black velvet texture with the name "Corvette" printed in bold white letters. The door handles, ashtray and mirror adjustment are finished in silver contrasting with the black door panel. All dashboard gauge markings, needles and gear shift markings (P, R, D etc. ) are clearly delineated. UT has even ensured the needles are red, and gauge readings silver, right down to the radio, with its protruding knobs and buttons!! Most impressive of all, are the speedometer and rev counter which are set deep into the dash, clearly marked and finished with the sporty silver trim.
Underneath the hood, one is treated to a fairly detailed view of the massive V8 engine, dominated by the chrome air filter. The undercarriage doesn't lack for detail. The exhaust system runs to the back of the car and the rear wheels actually have shock absorbers finished in a contrasting yellow! I am extremely impressed with this model...no gripes here. Pick one up and appreciate it for yourself.
