UT 1:18 Ford Expedition- Eddie Bauer

UT 1:18 Ford Expedition- Eddie Bauer diecast car

Affordable "Precision" die-cast modeling in 1:18th scale is here! The level of detail, fit & finish, as well as glass and chrome detail present has no equal irrespective of scale in the mass market. The Ford Expedition by UT is available in several colors and, priced equally, in both the Eddie Bauer and XLT Editions. UT has taken their fine tradition of quality and accuracy to the pinnacle in diecast metal.

Starting in the front, a cleaner, better-finished and detailed grill, light and bumper combination is not to be found. The superior clarity and detail of the headlamp covers and turn signals are an excellent complement. Body panel fit is superior to the best mint models. The door seams are so precise that I couldn't get a fingernail in the door jamb forcing me to open the Expedition's back doors from the inside. Once open, examining the door reveals excellent detailing {even map pockets} without the out-of-scale thickness seen in many replicas. Not even the smallest feature has been omitted from the interior. While the seats are not soft they do have a texture that makes them look extremely realistic. All of the clear plastic used in the building of this model looks like glass.

This is one model that will display beautifully by itself or even better pulling one of the diecast trailers available. Since the Expedition is currently one of the best selling SUV's available this model should sell briskly to both collectors and proud owners of the 1:1 version. In summary, I rate this model a solid "must have" for the 1:18th scale collector. Breakdown: diecast molding and accuracy (10); Paint (10); Interior detailing (9); Engine bay (7); Undercarriage (6); Fit and finish of parts (10); Visual presence/presentation (10). The final plus is that this model will impress without cleaning out your checkbook. (09/16/1999)
