This is easily one of the best and most affordable images of the C-5 Corvette in 1/18th scale on the market today. The stance of the car is perfectly scaled. The coupe version, somewhat less seen compared to the convertible or hard top versions, is fresh, clean and crisp in its styling. The graphics are beautifully executed and compliment the overall paint scheme dramatically. In fact the paint, to my mind, is a facet of UT that sets a new standard for this class of diecast. Flawlessly applied, it is bright, shiny and gives the illusion of a new wax job. Even the doorsills, under the hood and trunk lid are fully covered. As you examine this replica, you are immediately impressed with the fit of the hood, doors and rear deck lid. The diligence UT has exercised in manufacturing not only keeps tolerances extremely tight but also perfectly aligned. As a safety car for the 24 Hours of LeMans the Corvette had to be easily seen and this diecast lives up to that challenge. It will stand out in your collection. The safety lights in the rear window and high on the roof are replicated wonderfully. Unlike so many other Corvette models today, this one is recognizably different and decidedly fun. (03/07/2000)
