Interestingly enough, this copper-bodied 1921 Silver Ghost actually had its genesis in the 1960's. Created to be a show car, it won Best in Class honors at Pebble Beach in 1991. The boat-tailed body has only one door - testament to the fact that more of them would have weakened the solid copper body. If someone was trying to make a statement, he certainly succeeded with this one-of-a-kind machine.
FM has done this one up proud. The body is copper-clad metal and positively hurts your eyes with the light it throws off. It even comes with a pair of white gloves for handling! Like so many of FM's models of early twentieth century cars, this one positively drips with fine little details. The wire wheels seem to have been done in photo-etched metal and are some of the best I've ever seen. The gleaming chrome dash has 3-D gauges and the passenger compartments are carpeted. Undercarriage detailing is all you could ask for.
This unique scale model truly rises above its small shortcomings to present its owner with a stunning example of imaginative and innovative coachwork. If unique is your cup of tea, this beautiful model is just the thing for you. One lump or two? The issue price is $175.
