Finally....a replica of one of the finest marques ever produced in America. Packard is an American icon; a product upon which worldwide accolades were bestowed in abundance not only for its ruggedness, but for its luxury and engineering prowess. This Dietrich Custom Body Convertible Sedan is based on the famous TWELVE Chassis and is truly magnificent. Finished in Lipstick Red (not this reviewer's choice) with light beige simulated leather interior, and a nicely replicated fabric (fixed) top, the model is nicely turned out and actually captures the regalness that is PACKARD.

The engine is beautifully done, the body pin striping is excellent...the fabrication of the convertible top is a little askew.. but perhaps will work itself out over time in production. The famous trunk rack with its Packard Hallmark design lowers to accept a steamer trunk which is, unfortunately, not supplied. Finished entirely in chrome, the rack should have been painted the body color with chrome rub strips and medallions.

All in all, this is a wonderful model... and it is a PACKARD... a marque curiously bypassed by both Mints. Hopefully, this model is a portent of the future.. with even more great Packards on the way. Despite a few "nits", this beautiful Packard deserves a cornerstone place in your collection!!! The issue price is $135.
