Someone asked on the Bulletin Board if the '54 Bel Air had power steering or window options. It appears that this was indeed the case, but our Scanmaster Mike Martin says that the steering on this replica is as stiff as all the others he has tried! As far as power windows, this 1/24 model comes with the standard window and windwing cranks. Enough of this. This model demonstrates most of the new features we have come to expect in our hobby - wired engines, including the braided battery ground, window washer bottle, spare tire (but no visible jack,) folding seat backs, and full suspension. The car appears to be faithful to the lines of the original, and the paint job is a nice turquoise and cream. The front and rear Chevy emblems are separate parts, not decals as in earlier issues. Doors, hood and trunk all operate crisply with no large gaps, and the chrome side molding lines up as it should. I give this one a 4 ½ Star rating. The part number is B11 WW86 and it should be listed in the FM order department's computer. The issue price is $120. (4/25/98) (04/25/1998) |
