DISCONTINUED 12/31/02. It looks like FM has turned over a "new leaf"...the new '36 Ford is a real winner. As pretty as the picture, this model is packed with features...the usual opening and operating items all work well and fit the way we expect them to. The engine compartment is a work of art in itself...and there isn't a wire out of place!!! The underside is completely detailed beyond the call of duty!!! Everything's there down to the most minute detail...including the nifty radio antenna mounted along the bottom of the running boards. The tan simulated leather upholstery is set off with the many "options" Ford featured for the first time in the 1936 model season. Among them is the clock mounted in the rearview mirror and the radio mounted in the center of the dash. The big surprise is the build quality and the high level of authenticity this model possesses. It's quite evident FM, and its designer gurus, are paying attention to collector comments. My sample came through without a flaw (and believe me, I really looked!!!), The paint lays down with an excellent sheen. The contrasting Apple Green wheels and pinstripe make this Forest Green convertible really stand tall. Is this a must have, especially those of you who are Ford History Buffs, this '36 is a real must-have. It's the best model of a '36 Ford I've ever seen in 40+ years of collecting! By the way. Note the special Diecast Car Collectors Club license plate available for this model. The issue price is $95. (9/26/97) (09/26/1997) |
