I just received my 1997 Christmas truck from FM. Even though there are no mechanical differences compared with the '96 edition, the paint jobs make them look worlds apart. The '96 has a red body, bed, and hood with green fenders. The graphics are just barely readable on the fenders and the tree is plain green. The '97 has a green body, bed, and hood with red fenders. The graphics ar far superior to the '96. You can read them easily. The tree is flocked with white to simulate snow on the branches. Even if you are not into trucks, this makes a nice pair, like night and day. I'm glad I decided to get in on this special series.
Rather than establishing in advance a fixed number to be issued, FM will take orders through the Xmas season, and then close out the run. This means we won’t know the "body count" and for some collectors this could be a negative. The issue price was $105. (Previewed 7/26/97, Reviewed 8/28/97)
