Dr.
Jekyl is
back...and
he
brought
with
him a
gorgeous
new
model
car
from
the
boys at FM!!! The 1960 Mercedes Benz 300SL Roadster is done
to a turn in its Imperial Red paint job, meticulous attention to detail,
neat assembly, and accurate depiction of a very sexy, highly
sought- after, 60's sports roadster that was one of Hollywood's
darlings as ell as that of Kings, Consorts, and Jet Setters the world
over. Aristotle Onassis presented one to his mistress, Maria
Callas; Clark Gable purchased one just a month before he died in
1960; Princess Grace thought it to be the ideal anniversary gift for
Her Prince; and Fernando Lamas thought the car was "Simply
Mahvelous!!"
The model is well thought out and complete in just about every
detail one could imagine. The raised/removeable softop is well
detailed inside and out and fits ell on the car, being semi-secured
by two very discrete pins and holes mounted in the rear deck area.
Fitted luggage, which matches the upholstery color, is molded as a
unit to fit neatly inside the trunk...a nice touch!
This is the nicest 300SL Roadster model I've seen and is truly
beautiful. I hope for its success, but am concerned as to the scope
of interest. It is an excellent addition to any eclectic collection; an
absolute MUST HAVE for Mercedophiles; and a good possibility
for the rest of us. It's a 4 Star model...you won't regret its
appearance on your shelf!!! The issue price is $135. (12/97)
