Franklin Mint has just released their 1952 Jaguar in 1:24 scale and a handsome car it is. Here was and is one of the great classic car body styles ever and and continued Jaguars' excellent reputation in the United States. It could do 120 MPH right off the showroom floor. It had everything to offer including some of the sleekest lines of all the sports roadsters imports. The interior red and cream upholstery is presented in tight detail. The dash has a molded instrument panel with authentic looking gauges. (See insert). The paint is silver and smoothly applied. Chrome work is good. The trunk opens on this model to reveal good detail and the motor compartment offers a superb motor presentation with careful in place wiring. The convertible top seems to set just a bit high and did not fit well. It is your reviewers opinion that the model looks better with the top removed anyway. Simulated suspension included. The issue price is $90. (1/16/98) (01/16/1998) |
