If you enjoy the work of the Art Deco masters such as Erte, the Franklin Mint's lastest release will reaffirm all the reasons that this unique period of art history captured the public's attention. This is a one-of-a-kind replica, based on the successful showing of the "original" prototype at the Franklin Mint Museum last year. This represents the skills of FM designers, Raffi Minasian and Roger Hardnock, in evoking the legend of the custom coachwork of the pre-World War II period. Our model is the largest 1:24 replica car ever issued by FM, painted in two-tone lilac and silver with apple green metallic accents. It has the usual operating features, and the Duesy 320 hp engine is fully plumbed. A special touch is the crystal clear steering wheel. If you were unable to see the original exhibit at the Museum, this model gives you the chance to share in the fun. If you were there in person, then this is the ideal "souvenir." The current price is $175. [Note: This is not a replica of an actual car, but rather is a labor of love, created by the FM Design Staff who imagined what it would be like to craft a custom vehicle back in the 30's.] (01/03/1999) |
