Franklin Mint 1:24 1957 Chrysler 300C Convertible diecast car

One of the top three most requested model subjects is the magnificent 1957 CHRYSLER 300C CONVERTIBLE...superbly replicated by FM....debuting after more than 5 years of begging, cajoling, and near bribery on the part of our diecast constituency.

This is the embodiment of the Forward Look...Chrysler Corporation's dynamic break with styling past; so dynamic that its very existence caused GM to rethink and redo its entire 1959 lineup! Finned and beautiful, FM's Design Duo have faithfully caught the very nuance of this wonderfully fast, sexy convertible! Body lines are accurate and crisp; ditto the interior. Paintwork (Ebony Black) is near flawless in its application. The focal point of that very aggressive grille will send chills up and down your spine...it's 100% right on! The piece de resistance is the intricacy of design in the raised top; the framework is painstakingly masterful The model comes with all the new FM technology including the rotating driveshaft and, for the first time for me, an FM Certified Inspection slip stuck inside the Styrofoam ...mine was passed by "*23", no other I.D. given,

Any nits? Well, yes. Though build quality is improved a great deal, this model suffers from large door gaps so prevalent in FM products. One would think that defect would've long been remedied! Not a big deal but rather an annoyance in a model which retails for $120!!! This nit costs the FM '57 CHRYSLER 300C a star... dropping it back to 4 Stars. In the meantime, DM's 300C looms in the very near future...this should be a most curious comparison. Stay tuned. The issue price is $120.
