Here's
a little
bit of
whimsy
from
the
folks
at FM
- a
VW
Bug
that evokes the hip era of Haight-Ashbury and the flower children.
FM says that no two cars are alike, as each is hand painted a
different color. Some purists are grousing about this model, but I
think it will get more raves from my visitors than many of the
"mainstream" cars I display. The various flowers, peace signs and
other "trim" are actually decals, and I was not happy with their
application since they are so obvious, somewhat like the decal on
the sides of the "Ultimate Sportsman's Truck." A little burnishng
helps eliminate part of the problem. (11/29/97)
The 'Bug' was issued with five different body colors: orange, pink, blue, green, and yellow! The issue price is $90.
