In referring to the Police Chief's version of the 1956 Nash Metropolitan, FM says in the enclosed Certificate of Authenticity that the tiny Metro (with a shorter wheelbase than the VW Beetle) was a perfect law enforcement vehicle within the confines of the big city-small, maneuverable and economical. I don't recall ever seeing one but I suppose, in the tradition of accuracy at FM, some were actually used. However, seeing an officer in one would be akin to watching a big man walking a toy poodle. As die cast images go, this version of the Metro couldn't be any cuter. Painted in police black and white, with the "gum-ball dispenser" light and oversize "34" on the roof, and sporting a chief's hat and handcuffs on the front seat, it looks like a prop from a Tinytown movie. It's another example of getting the most out of a die. Like the Mini Cooper, what's also nice about this particular model is its economical price. You can put it alongside the original Metro and double the cuteness. Then, you may even want to add the Fire Chief's version to complete the collection. Issue price is $75 + S&H.
