Franklin Mint 1:10 1998 Harley-Davidson Fat Boy- 95th Anniversary Edition (1:10) diecast car

Here it is - the 1998 Fatboy in its 95th Anniversary configuration. Back in 1903, when Harley-Davidson started making motorcycles, they looked more like bicycles with miniature (but characteristic V-twin) motors. While they would never have dreamed of the likes of the Fatboy then, I'm sure Walter Davidson and Bill Harley would have approved of this muscular - epitome of cool - bike bearing their combined names. With touches of the past, as well as the future, it's lean, mean and all Hog. No wonder James Cameron picked the Fatboy to haul the Terminator's ashes. What else - a Honda Goldwing maybe? Get real!

Based on an older die cast model, the '98 Fatboy has fewer working features but still looks great. It does have an operating shift, working front and rear suspension, and a drive belt that follows wheel rotation. There are gobs of chrome and a sharp, cream and bronze paint scheme, flawlessly applied (with matching helmet). Everywhere you look there are authentic H-D details. The Fatboy is a worthy addition to the 1:10 motorcycle collection.

I've said it before but it bears repeating. Harley-Davidson understands tradition and heritage like no other motorcycle maker. Keep this in mind the next time you drool over a Japanese Harley clone. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. The issue price is $135. (01/13/2000)
