This is the top-up version of the Yat-Ming ’59 Chevrolet Impala convertible. The sleek lines of the ’59 Impala were successfully captured with the convertible body and the top being up adds to the overall look. Metallic blue paint and white/blue interior combine with a whitewall tires and chrome to make a very eye-catching model. The continental kit matches the blue body. All external trim is chrome and nicely fit. Tires have no lettering. The dash is white with a blue instrument cluster with detailed printed instrument faces. All door handles and window cranks are separate chromed pieces. Brake, clutch and accelerator pedals are done in black, showing well against the white simulated carpet. Doors and hood are a nice fit, but the trunk does not open due to the continental tire kit. Tires have no lettering. Basic measurements are accurate to 1/18 scale. Underbody detail includes dual exhausts. When people first see this model they just have to touch the top to see if it is really cloth, then seem surprised to learn it’s made of plastic. The engine depicts a 348 V8 but does not have much detail. e 0Being an entry-level diecast, this Impala can be purchased for around $20, making it a very good value and a very nice display piece.
