It would be tough to find a more recognizable car than the popular and highly 0collectible ’57 Thunderbird. Yat-Ming has done a really nice job on their inexpensive offering. Well-fitting doors, hood and trunk open and the steering wheel turns the front wheels. The black and white interior is quite tidy. Wide white wall tires look pretty sharp but there is no lettering on the sidewalls. Parking light lenses are neatly fit into the front bumper. Tail lights have chromed bezels and red0 lenses topped off by a chrome center. The classy continental kit has the Thunderbird logo stamped on the cover, using a wide chromed ring to clamp it to the tire. A00 detailed engine appears to be a 312 V8 with optional factory dress up kit. There is a Tachometer attached to the steering column that I do not remember as being offered by Ford. The grill has a blackened effect that really looks nice. Underbody detail shows dual exhausts running to the rear bumper exhaust ports. A hardtop with portholes is included and plugs into two holes in the rear turtle-deck. I was impressed with this model and bought a spare for a shelf in my office. Look this one over closely…. it’s a keeper! (08/18/2001) |
