"Lucy, you got some 'splainin' to do!"
Lucy, Ricky Ricardo, Fred and Ethel Mertz. The big news this past week was Sun Star's shipment of the Ricardo's 1955 Pontiac Star Chief. This is the car Ricky taught Lucy how to drive in. In which the four drove cross-country to California for some famous episodes. Best of all, removable figurines of the four characters are ready to ride in the 1:18 model!
Is this a collectible or what! Even thirty-somethings have streamed this early ground-breaking TV series to their iPad.
It was part of a big and bountiful Sun Star delivery.
The 1958 Ford Fairlane 500 arrived as an open convertible in period perfect Torch Red & White. The 1958 design perfected the sleek styling begun in 1955. As you walked around it in the dealer showroom, you would have loved the quad headlamps above a '58 Thunderbird-style grille. Around the back, the scalloped rear deck above four tail lamps looked ready to blast jet flames. Click on 1958 Ford Fairlane 500.
At Sun Star's lower price point, we got the 1964 Ford Galaxie 500. Choose between Samoan Coral & White or Black & Sunlight Yellow. Many consider the 1964 - last year of this powerful body style - the most alluring Galaxie every made.
Also in is the 1963 Aston Martin DB5 in silver grey. Be sure to check out our other color choices. This is James Bond's car; there may be no more seductive sport car than this!
Not to be lost in the Sun star furor are two key deliveries from Truescale Miniatures. Superbly done is their Jagermeister liveried Porsche 935 driven by Schurti and Jacky Ickx in the 1978 Nurburgring 1000. In 1:43, we have restocked John Lennon's fanciful 1965 Rolls Royce Phantom V. The Rolls shows the world "All You Need Is Love".
