Update on Zone Wish List Voting
Open now for voting - until August 10 - is the Diecast Zone Wish List. Once a year, collectors send a message to the manufacturers. Tell them the cars you most want to see issued. Every Zone member gets $700 in official Wish List money.
$81,000 has been voted so far among three scale categories.
Deprived of two major sources of replicas (the mints), 1:24 collectors have been the most vocal! They have voted over $50,000 of the total.
The Top 3 are American: 1969 Pontiac Grand Prix gets 20% of total at $9,650.00. At half that pace-setting level is the 1961 Pontiac Bonneville and the 1957 Oldsmobile 98 2-Dr.
1:18 collectors have voted almost $20,000. Voting is lead by perennial candidate, the Reventlow Scarab. Close behind are two very distinctive American cars. The 1969 AMC SC/Rambler was designed for the quarter mile and the Thunderbird created a new class of sportiness dramatically restyled in 1964.
1:43 collectors are a bit spoiled because manufacturers have been so prolific. Their votes barely exceed $10,000. So it's all the more interesting that their top two choices are the 1933 Cadillac Aerodynamic Coupe and the 1965 Impala SS. How has Neo / American Excellence missed the Impala?
We encourage contributors to collaborate in their voting to push models to the top. A wide diversity of opinion doesn't give direction; only consensus does.
We thank Marlowe Johnson for his organizing the results into a cohesive picture.
If you haven't voted yet... it's an election year, VOTE on the Wish List!
