Back in the day, finding an auto to drive was difficult, stick and three on the tree were
more usual. Now-a-days manual shift is growing more rare.
So ingrained in my mind is manual shift that transitioning from one to the other presents no difficulty at all.
What is more difficult though is finding a stick to drive these days.
Although my 1939 Olds was factory equipt with three speed column to help ease the routine of auto.
