(PICS) Just to be different, a '52 International panel....not the usual '53 model
My brother and I built this basic '52 version of an International L110 panel van from a NAPA '53 1st Gear promo many years ago. Our main intentions were to make the model into the earlier mustache -grilled '52 as well as changing the rear doors from the Travelall's tailgate into the correct side-opening split-doors used on the panel trucks. As long as we were modifying the panel van, following the '52 brochure reference, we also changed the interior into the basic driver's seat only van with the spare wheel/tire mounted inside behind the driver . We also detailed the engine compartment with added fuel line, battery cables, detailed air filter, etc., added brake lines to the rear axle, and tubing exhaust tail-pipe. The hood was appropriately modified and the '52 grille and front trim was fabricated in brass (and chrome plated). The hinged rear doors were also done in brass and the body was painted in automotive basecoat/clearcoat to approximate the brochure reference. The wheels now have tiny air-valve stems added as well.
