I've always wondered what it must have been like to own, drive, and maintain vehicles like these.
When compared to modern cars, the driving characteristics probably would have felt heavy and cumbersome. The steering would have been vague and the brakes were probably a frightening event. Inclimate weather would have had a profound effect on all of the above. The reliability would likely be spotty and the maintenance a real PITA.

Still, despite the shortcomings, I suppose at the time, they weren't deemed as such. Then, the "modernity" of the cars would have seemed astounding! Onlookers would see the cars with the jaws dropped to the ground.
