David, I said nothing about people that collect plastic toy cars. Why are you Jumping on me?
So you prefer perfect model cars which is what the resin bodied model cars are supposed to be, HOWEVER, FIND A REAL 1:1 CAR [back before 2000]THAT IS EVEN CLOSE TO PERFECT, STRAIGHT FROM THE FACTORY; which makes all the perfect resin model NOT really EXACT scale models, they are what 1:1 collectors call "over restored" at car shows.
If you buy a model car and leave it in the box or put it on a shelf and forget it, then you are correct. But friends that wonder what the engine looked like or the other parts missing from resin takes the fun out of re-inspecting [playing with] the car with friends. I'm a hands on guy, you may stand and stare or forget it if that is your bag.
I prefer a model of the complete 1:1 car; I believe there are engines, transmissions, rear ends, trunks on/in the 1:1 cars. For over $120 I want the whole car even if they are not perfect [just like a real 1:1]. If you only want a car to stare at why not just enlarge a picture.
