possible solution....
MIx the proper acrylic clear color (I use Tamiya clear paint) with Micro Kristal Klear. It's a white glue that sets clear and has enough body that it can be built up to that teardrop shape (or even stretched out to simulate a small pane of glass). I would sharpen a toothpick and pick up a bead of the cement to apply.
If you screw up, it's water soluble before it completely sets.
I've even used it to replicate toggle switched on a dash.
It will set to the proper clear color.
