I can't remember exactly when redlines became the latest and greatest thing.
I know that they were available on Chevelle SS 396s in '66 and on GTOs and presumably other muscle cars. If BRK had the capability of making redline tires, could they use them on the '65 Malibu SS? I don't know.

I was at a car show not too long ago and saw a silver GTO, a '67, on which the owner had taken a magic-marker or some such and "painted" his narrow whitewalls red. The conversion was not what you'd call successful, as it was obvious what he'd done.
