Comparing the old Soviet Chaika models with opening parts to a new Ist is like comparing a Dinky Galaxie with one from the Brazilian partwork made by Ixo. I love my old Soviet made Chaika in black which was a good model for its time with lots of opening parts

White Chaikas were Soviet era wedding cars. They were a feature of Moscow life and young marrieds would be photographed with the cars on the hills overlooking the City if I remember correctly.

At one point the Ist moulding was available as a part word model for Russia and Eastern Europe selling at about a third of the price of the Ist and painted in the more typical black.
