Items may cost more because of sales taxes, too, but this is variable dependent upon whether the item is flagged by Customs for taxation.

Of note re: exchange rates, when Canadian dollar was on par with U.S. purchasing costs were lower.

As for shipping, prices vary but shipping within U.S. is cheaper than international shipping and most models in Canada are sourced outside the country thus shipping often costs more.

To keep my blood pressure down, I have always priced my collection value and transactions in U.S. dollars, too:)
